Support Science That Matters Now

Recently, in celebration of Nevada Day, DRI highlighted the work that our scientists do across this great state. And while our home has been in Nevada since our founding in 1959, our work has grown to touch nearly every corner of the globe. Whether it’s analyzing ice cores in the Alps, working with local communities to ensure access to clean water in Ghana, or supporting K-12 educators as they bring high-quality, hands-on STEM education to Nevada’s classrooms, the projects our scientists undertake are tied together by a common goal – to help create a more sustainable and resilient environment for all people to live, grow, and prosper.

As a self-funded institution, philanthropic support – from individuals, corporations, and foundations – is a key part of ensuring DRI’s long-term success.

In 2025 alone, philanthropic dollars helped DRI…

  • Provide seed-funding to DRI scientists to test emerging and ground-breaking scientific ideas via the Innovation Research Program.
  • Ship Green Boxes free of charge to educators across the state, enhancing their access to and confidence in hands-on lesson plans for STEM education.
  • Fund research that explores the intersections between farming and the environment and the necessary balance between environmental protection and food production through the Harold J. Kruse Farming and Environment Award.

… and so much more.

We are grateful to our Corporate Partners, to the foundations that provide grants, and to all of you who help provide the resources our scientists need to better understand and address the challenges posed by our changing planet.

This Giving Season, please keep DRI in mind and consider donating in support of Science that Matters Now.
