Join us for a FREE professional development training on our high school Green Box unit, Genetics and Your Environment! This Green Box provides three weeks of curriculum and all necessary supplies to complete hands-on investigations about DNA replication, protein synthesis, and mutations, in the context of radiation. Students will also learn about careers related to radiation and biophysics, and how to protect the body from radiation through time, distance, and shielding.

A tour of the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) is also provided as part of the training. An NNSS tour guide will accompany us to provide information about the NNSS and ties to the Green Box unit. An informational guide for the tour will be provided in the confirmation of attendance email. Due to the NNSS Tour, an email containing further information and a confirmation of attendance pre-survey will be sent August 15, 2025 to confirm your attendance. Space is limited. A waitlist option will be added once capacity is reached.

Special Note: Although this training will cover high school standards, all interested educators are welcome to attend! Educators who attend the session and NNSS Tour will be eligible for Continuing Education hours for the Green Box training session and tour. The NNSS Tour is open to United States Citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents. An additional field trip form confirming your status is required.
