Jennifer provides leadership and oversight for human resources at the Desert Research Institute. The HR team serves to support the organization by developing strategic initiatives the distinguish people as our greatest asset. HR Strives to provide outstanding service while fostering collaboration in the development of programs and services to contribute toward and strengthen our organization’s effectiveness.

SR. HR BUSINESS PARTNER
Kelsey is our Northern Nevada benefits expert and can assist with all benefits questions including health insurance, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, supplement benefits, retirement questions and planning and leaves including FMLA. Kelsey is the HR Workday subject matter expert and can assist with technical guidance as it relates to the HR portion of Workday and report writing.

SR. HR BUSINESS PARTNER - DRI'S LAS VEGAS CAMPUS
Joanne provides all HR services for DRI’s Southern Nevada Science Center (SNSC) in Las Vegas. Joanne handles all recruitment functions, new hire orientation, payroll, benefits, record keeping, and facilitates resolution of employee relations matters.

HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST/DIVERSITY OFFICER
Dana provides employment and administrative services with our faculty and postdoc recruitment process, candidate sourcing, position advertisements, applicant tracking, relocation, and other NNSC customer service regarding employment and recruitment. Dana serves as DRI’s Diversity Officer, working closely with the Human Resources Office to enhance recruitment and retention efforts in order to reach a wider audience and expand the talent pool. DRI is committed to hiring a diverse workforce, as diversity increases problem solving, creativity, employee engagement, and expands DRI’s research portfolio. Dana also serves as DRI’s representative for NSHE’s Inclusion Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility Council (IDEA), which works to support diversity throughout the system. Dana also serves as our Bridge learning management system (LMS) subject matter expert.

HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST
Malia provides employment and administrative services with our technologist and hourly recruitment process, candidate sourcing, position advertisements, applicant tracking, relocation, and other NNSC customer service regarding employment and recruitment. Malia provides support to all DRI employees and HR Staff. She is the point of contact for payroll related matters, hourly orientations, volunteers, and record keeping. She continually leads special projects, as needed, to support all areas of HR. Malia also serves as DRI’s Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI) committee representative.
Human Resources Assistant
Jimena is the first point of contact for all walk-ins to the HR office and assists employees and applicants with general questions and needs. She also provides administrative support to all the HR staff. Additional responsibilities include maintaining office phone lines, scheduling meetings, assembling new hire packets, distributing forms and materials, and maintaining employee records. She continually provides support with projects given to her by other members of the HR team.
