Visiting Artist Workshop at Nevada Museum of Art: The Art of Science Communication with Tiffany Pereira

An artist in a greenhouse drawing in a pad the seedlings that have sprouted.

An issue facing most scientists today is…communication.  Some people don’t have access to information, some people are overcome by jargon, and others simply don’t care unless it impacts them directly. How do scientists convey research to the public in a way that’s factual, interesting, and easily accessible?  The answer is….the union of art and science. Join Tiffany Pereira, Associate Research Scientist and Scientific Illustrator at the Desert Research Institute for an interactive class on Scientific Illustration and Science Communication.  Learn what makes a scientific or botanical illustration special and how to construct a infographic to convey complex ideas. All supplies are provided.

Please visit the Nevada Museum of Art’s website for pricing and registration.
