Nevada Robotics METRICS at Lomie Heard Elementary School

Metrics: Mentoring Educators Teaching Robotics and innovation in Computer Science

Nevada Robotics will provide three 2-hour workshops for Lomie Heard staff focused on the use of the VEX GO robot in a classroom setting These three workshops will take place on Wednesdays at Lomie Heard between 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. on 3/23, 3/25, and 4/29.

During the workshops, the educators will learn how to build and code the VEX GO. They will explore various builds and coding options. Teachers will also explore how to use VEX GO parts for engineering and design challenges.

Nevada Robotics staff members will collaborate with Lomie Heard staff to develop and write a 20-lesson scope and sequence plan for using VEX GO in the third-grade classrooms.

These lessons will be designed to fit appropriately into the school’s larger robotics and computer science scope and sequence for grades K-5.
