The Archaeology of the Union Pacific’s Salt Lake Route with DRI’s Jeff Wedding

Archaeologist, Jeff Wedding, will discuss investigations along the San Pedeo, Los Angeles & Salt Lake Railroad between 1903 and 1905 (the progenitor of today’s Union Pacific line). The talk will focus on archaeological sites related to the construction of the line in Nevada.

Jeffrey Wedding has 30+ years of experience in archaeological and historical research in the desert southwest.  His interests include World War II era military training exercises, Cold War nuclear testing facilities, historical archaeology of mining, transporation, and ranching during the 19th and early 20th Century.
