We welcome you to attend the Nevada Robotics Pilots Peak Drone Competition on March 7 at the Boys and Girls Club Reynolds Center Club Facility in Reno.

About the Event
This is a blended tournament and the first to be held at the Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows!

Important Notes

  • There is a limit of 4 teams per organization that can register for this event.

  • Teams must submit the Competition Logbook by uploading their digital logbook or scanned copy of their physical logbook using the coach’s RECFevents account if they want it considered for judging. The deadline for Logbooks to be uploaded is Wednesday, Feb. 25 by 6pm local time. How to Submit a Competition Logbook.

  • All participants attending any official REC Foundation event must complete a Participant Release Form. This includes students, coaches and mentors. Follow the instructions outlined in this article: Participant Release Form.

  • Safety glasses are required.

8:30 AM – Doors Open
8:45 AM – Team Check in, Inspections Begin
9:00 AM – Piloting Mission Begins
9:15 AM – Flight Team Meeting and Match Schedule Created Note: Teams not checked in by this time will not be included in the Teamwork Match schedule for the day.
9:30 AM – Teamwork Matches, Autonomous Flight Mission and Judging Begin
12:00 PM – Lunch
12:30 PM – All Matches and Judging Resume
2:30 PM – Teamwork Qualification Matches, Piloting and Autonomous Flight Matches and Judging End
2:45 PM – Alliance Selections
3:45 PM – Finals and Awards
4:00 PM – Event Ends

Volunteer

If you are interested in volunteering for this event please contact Michelle at michelle.gallivan-wallace@dri.edu. We’re always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make our events a success. There are a variety of roles available, from simply sitting at a table to check teams in, to serving as a referee or judge. No matter your skill level or experience, there’s a way you can contribute! No prior experience is needed for most roles, but Head Referees and Judge Advisors are required to be certified.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
If weather or a local emergency causes us to cancel or adjust the schedule, all teams will be notified via email.

Refund and Payment Policies
If the Event Partner cancels the event:
Refunds will be issued by the Event Partner minus REC Foundation processing fees:

  • $5.00 per team registration

  • 3% credit card transaction fee (if applicable)

If a team withdraws or no-shows:
Due to the costs associated with event planning, refunds will not be issued.
