Faculty Research Support

DRI faculty are self-funded and non-tenured positions. While this model provides faculty with the freedom from the constraints of a traditional tenure-granting system to pursue and focus on innovative research, it means that faculty must generate funding from external sources to support their own salaries (and those of their team). The need for faculty support is especially important for early-career researchers as they build out their research portfolios.  From providing seed funding to promising and innovative research ideas to endowing a faculty position in a strategic area of research, or supporting the acquisition of important equipment and resources, faculty support can take a variety of forms. Below are a few of our current initiatives:
