Welcome to the Technologist Professional Development webpage!

The purpose of this funding is to provide equal opportunity for technologists to receive professional development that can be used to expand your skills here at DRI.  All technologists that have been working at DRI for a minimum of 6 months will have the opportunity to participate in professional development.  Each technologist can receive a maximum of $1,500 per calendar year.

Professional development opportunities for your job can include local or out of state conferences or training, online training and courses, university classes, seminars, certifications, and more!  Specific examples of professional development opportunities include: HVAC training, lab instrumentation training, IT courses, SEO training, local or out of state conferences, seminars, etc.

HOW TO APPLY:

The steps below are a guideline for applications:

1. Determine what you would like to use your professional development funds for, and the cost/fees involved (cost of training or course, registration fees, etc.).
2. Determine if this is local or will require travel funds (i.e., airfare, transportation, meals per diem).
3. Determine how you will cover the cost for your time. Options include asking your division to cover your time, using annual leave, or having professional development cover this time. (To determine your salary + fringe cost, please refer to the application below).
