Communications and Digital Engagement Administrator

Jaq joined DRI in 2017 as a Communications Intern during the final year of her Masters in English program at the University of Nevada, Reno and transitioned to a full time role after graduation in May 2018. As the Digital Engagement Administrator, she manages DRI’s social media presence, creates digital and print content, assists with public outreach and educational events, and provides writing and media relations support for DRI faculty, students, and staff.

A native of the rural Sierra Nevada foothills, Jaq is passionate about place, well-told stories, and collaboration. She brings these values and a wide range of writing, teaching, and administrative experience to her work at DRI. Her Bachelors and Masters degrees are in English with emphases in writing, and she has taught and tutored students in writing at the college, high school, and middle school levels. She also has experience in environmental reporting, publishing, and social science research.
