XVI INQUA Congress of the International Union for Quaternary Research

Held every four years, the INQUA Congress is the largest gathering of scientists studying the Quaternary period, the last 2.6 million years of Earth's history. The theme for this Congress was Shaping the Earth: A Quaternary Perspective. It was held in Reno, Nevada USA and sponsored by INQUA, Geological Society of America, Desert Research Institute, and Gateway Computers. The 16th INQUA Congress was considered a great success with over 1,000 scientists attending from all over the world.
