Description: The nearly three million dollar federal grant is from the economic development administration, and it's hoped this money will trigger five million in private investment and bring 900 jobs to Reno. The Board of Regents will use the money to improve roads, interchanges and other transportation infrastructure; it's the next step in developing a vibrant high-tech sector in north Reno.

The potential for this area was first realized in the 80s, but gained significant momentum in recent years, with DRI President Stephen G. Wells crediting Senator Harry Reid and the rest of Nevada's congressional delegation for having the land turned over from the BLM for development, and helping companies that want to set up here get funding.
