Description: DRIVE 6, DRI’s virtual environment, is featured by KRNV News 4 as tool to help wildfire managers in Reno. The visualization facility allows researchers to create or re-create wildfire events in a safe environment. It could give the teams, and the commanders, and the firefighters an opportunity to see what actual events might take place. By having that heads up, that improves not only the effectiveness of firefighting, but can be very beneficial for firefighter safety. The Reno fire department says that it hopes to be using this high-tech piece of equipment in the very near future. Reporter: Brandon Wholey.
