Deep Sengupta wins Colin Warden Award webOAL graduate student Deep Sengupta wins Colin Warden Memorial Endowment Award (https://www.dri.edu/education-and-outreach/student-programs/graduate-scholarships/188-the-colin-warden-memorial-endowment)! The award "recognizes outstanding graduate students working on DRI projects or who have DRI faculty members directly supervising their graduate research... The award will be based on the best research paper submitted by a student on subjects related to identification and/or resolution of an environmental problem". Deep's paper "Light absorbtion by polar and non-polar aerosol compounds from laboratory biomass combustion" has been published in Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics in July 2018 (https://www.atmos-chem-phys.net/18/10849/2018/acp-18-10849-2018.pdf). Congratulations, Deep!

OAL team at the 80th Nevada State Legislature!

NV Legislature DayDrs. Andrey Khlystov and Vera Samburova participated in the DRI Day at the NV Legislature today. They met with Senator Heidi Gansert, Assemblywomen Heidi Ann Swank and Lisa Krasner, and educated many members of NV State Legislature on dangers of flavoring compounds in e-cigarettes. Dr. Khlystov attended the recognition of DRI from the floor of the NV Senate by the State Senator Heidi Gansert.

OAL team attends SRNT Annual Meeting, February 20-23, 2019

OAL team at SRNT2019 web Organic Analytical Lab was well represented at the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco 2019 Annual Meeting in San Francisco. Drs. Andrey Khlystov, Vera Samburova and Yeongkwon Son have attended the meeting, and Yeong presented three (!!!) posters. The posters generated a lot of interest and created new opportunities for collaboration with governmantal agencies and educational institutions.

OAL members present at the NPHA annual meeting, September 26-27, 2018

NPHA 2018 web OAL scientists Drs. Vera Samburova and Yeongkwon Son attended the 2018 Nevada Public Health Association annual conference in Las Vegas. They gave presentations on potential hazards of e-cigarette use to the broad audience of health care providers, clinicians, educators and researchers.
