DRI has extensive experience in the fields of biomass, bioenergy, and biofuels. Along with its research partners, DRI has worked with a wide range of thermochemical processes to convert woody, herbaceous, and algal biomass to biofuels. We have in-house capabilities to produce solid biofuels (chars) and aqueous products from hydrothermal processing of lignocellulosic and algal feedstocks at scales from 2 g to 3 kg. We also have a good understanding of transportation fuel production and distribution systems, as well as fuel properties, performance, specifications, and life-cycle analysis.
