Home to the Desert Research Institute's flagship campus the Northern Nevada Science Center, DRI's Reno campus houses over 350 research faculty and over 40 specialized laboratories supporting the research fields of atmospheric, hydrologic, earth & life science, clean tech/renewable energy and advanced computing and visualization.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration operates its Western Regional Office for the National Weather Service at the Dandini Research Park. The National Weather Service is a component of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). NOAA is an Operating Unit of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
University of Nevada, Reno
As a sister institution to DRI, The University of Nevada is less than 2 miles from DRI and the Dandini Research Park. As a Tier 1 institution of higher education, The University conducts over $100 million in research in engineering, environmental and health sciences with over 600 faculty in these disciplines.
On the Research Park campus, the University operates the Great Basin Science Sample and Records Library housing geological core samples from through out the western US. These core samples are a vital part of geological science research and commercial applications in the mining and engineering industries.
Truckee Meadows Community College
Home to more than 13,000 students, TMCC provides the Research Park with workforce development access which last year produced over 200 graduates with associate degrees in science and applied science.
