Nov. 17, 2009 Greetings!Kenda Walters, DRI's Blood Donor Coordinator, was recognized on Monday, Nov. 16th by the United Blood Services (UBS) with its Dedicated to the Cause Award. Kenda earned the honor because she goes the extra-mile to recuit donors and to coordinate four drives a year on behalf of DRI. Kenda started as the Blood Donor Coordinator in 2000 when DRI first joined Corporate Challenge of Reno. When you add it all up: four drives a year, for the last 10 years, multiply that by the 22 pints on average for each drive from DRI employees; that's 880 pints of blood that's been donated to UBS from DRI. The next DRI Blood Drive on the Reno campus is Friday, Dec. 4th. The blood mobile will be parked at the lower Raggio parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please consider thanking Kenda or should I say "Vampira" for her hard work by making a donation. Sincerely, Stephen Wells |
