From its basic early commitment to studying the special circumstances of the desert environment, DRI has expanded to embrace international research, still calling on the knowledge gained in those early years.
Yet, for all DRI's global research and international projects, Nevada's unique envrionmental circumstances and natural resource challenges remain a primary concern to the Institute. Some of DRI's most significant and impactful work takes place in Nevada, benefiting its citizens, policy makers and DRI's regional agency partners.
DRI's impact in Nevada stretches from the deserts of the Great Basin and mountain watersheds of the Sierra, to the atmosphere of the Las Vegas Valley, the rivers and streams serving rural agriculture and ranching, and throughout the state's most historic sites. Home Means Nevada.
