Media Advisory: DRI Nevada Medal Recipient Dr. Steven Squyres to Skype with Elementary Students Print E-mail

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 4, 2012

Reporters and Editors, Please Note

WHO: Steven Squyres, Ph.D., this year’s recipient of the Desert Research Institute Nevada Medal.

WHAT:  As a way to get kids excited about science, Dr. Squyres will have a Skype conversation with students at Sandy S. Miller Elementary School Academy for International Studies. During the Skype session students from different grade levels will be able to ask Dr. Squyres about his work and get his advice on some of the projects they are working on in the school’s robotics and science labs.

Dr. Squyres is best known for his work as the Principal Investigator for the Mars Explorations Rover Project (MER) and his study of the history and distribution of water on Mars.
