Professional Interests

Dr. Wetzel's research focus is in the application of satellite remote sensing for estimation of cloud optical and microphysical parameters. This incorporates radiative transfer theory and multispectral radiative measurements, in conjunction with simultaneous cloud physics sampling. Other research areas include ultraviolet radiative transfer, cloud-aerosol interactions for climate change studies, and alternative energy resource assessment.
