Library Policies - Public Borrowers

Circulation Policies for Public Borrowers

To assist members of the local community with their specialized research needs not otherwise met by their local public libraries, the DRI Libraries extend borrowing privileges to the pubic in accordance with the policies and conditions described below.

Registration Requirements

Residents of Nevada may borrow books from the DRI Libraries upon registering with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Library or the University of Nevada, Reno Library. After registering, a library card will be provided.

If the borrower has not registered with the Universities, a valid Nevada Driver's license or Nevada I.D. card showing a local street address will be copied and filed.

Loan Periods

Books and reports may be checked out for a period of three weeks.

Public borrowers are limited to having three books checked out from the DRI Libraries.

Book Renewals

Books may be renewed once (unless a hold request has been placed on them).

Recall of Books

All books are subject to immediate recall if needed by DRI Faculty and Staff.

Journals

Journals are not available for checkout.

Overdue and Lost Items

All books are due as marked.

If books are not returned, you will be billed for the replacement cost of the materials.
