Project Description

The overall objective of this project is to advance the knowledge of methods that are appropriate for long-term monitoring of groundwater resources and recharge in the mountains of California. This objective will be achieved by implementing and testing methodologies that are of potential value but have not yet been proven to be applicable (either in general or in mountains). Our focus will be on methods identified by Earman and Dettinger (2008) as having promise for long-term monitoring, but needing further testing or refinement. We will use a team of experts from the Desert Research Institute (lead agency), the University of California, Santa Barbara and the U. S. Geological Survey.
