DRI Foundation Goals

The Foundation and DRI work together to ensure the goals of annual and major fundraising campaigns are fully integrated within the strategic planning goals of the Institute and campaign goals relate to needs, programs, and projects identified by the Institute. The Foundation seeks the advice and input of Institute administration and faculty and considers their comments.

When raising funds using DRI’s name and for the purpose of promoting the general welfare, development, growth, and well being of the Institute, the Foundation acts in a manner which enhances the Institute’s image and its relationships with donors and other supporters.

The Foundation’s financial goals include:

  • Maintaining a balanced operating budget.
  • Incorporating into the day to day financial operation the spending and investment policies as approved by the Board of Trustees.
  • Maintaining a budgetary control system that enables the Foundation to adhere to the adopted budget.
  • Maintaining a favorable credit rating.
  • Maintaining an effective risk management program to minimize losses and reduce insurance costs.
  • Providing staff with the necessary tools to operate and manage a financially sound corporation.
