Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S)

The EH&S Office promotes a safe and healthy environment by coordinating the provision of programs and services to reduce safety, health and environmental risks in a manner consistent with responsible fiscal and environmental stewardship.

The Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) mission encompasses responsibilities for implementing programs and services for protection of the local community and the environment from potential hazards generated by DRI activities. Providing programs and services for protecting people and preserving the environment through:

  • Assessing and assisting in the control of human exposures to occupational hazards.
  • Promoting responsible waste management.
  • Guiding the DRI community in the implementation of regulatory requirements.
