| Ice Core Analysis and Incorporation of the Arctic Circle Traverse (ACT) Radar |
Project DescriptionThe Desert Research Institute's (DRI) scope of work builds on McConnell's extensive experience in ice core analysis and snow accumulation research in Greenland and Antarctica. This includes the 220 km long Arctic Circle Traverse (ACT) of the Greenland ice sheet in 2004 which involved developing and linking ice core records and ground penetrating radar surveys similar to those proposed here. As part of the scope, McConnell and his group will analyze ~270 m of ice core and he will assist in the incorporation of the ACT radar and ice core data into the new measurements as necessary. |
Landscape and the Environment
Applying science to environmental issues such as climate change, water recharge, flooding, and contaminant transport.
Solving Critical State Water Problems
Quality research and dedication to science has established DHS as Nevada's Water Resources Research Institute.
Hydrologic Sciences and Water Mgt.
DHS faculty teach in both UNR's Hydrologic Sciences and UNLV's Water Resources Management Graduate Programs.
