2011 DHS Service Award

Margaret BallClick to enlarge photoOn Thursday, October 20 Division of Hydrologic Sciences Interim Executive Director Dr. Jim Thomas presented Mrs. Margaret Ball with the 2011 DHS Service Award. The award is given to individuals who have demonstrated prolonged, outstanding service to support the scientific and/or financial future of the Division.

For 16-years Mrs. Ball served as the care taker to the late Mrs. Aileen Maki, who in her will provided an endowment to DHS to support education and research in water resources for southern Nevada water issues. Mr. Sulio and Mrs. Aileen Maki philanthropic spirit, focused in southern Nevada, continues to provide significant benefits to DHS and DRI in general.
