Climatologists at the Desert Research Institute are watching a trend of more rain, less snow. Laura Edwards, an assistant research climatologist with the Western Regional Climate Center, says the latest weather trend follows the climate model projections.

By the end of this century we could expect to see:

  • Higher snow levels in the mountains
  • More extended droughts
  • More severe drought periods
