Kelly Frank is DRI's public information officer. She is the media's primary contact, with offices at DRI's Las Vegas and Reno campuses. She responds to media requests for information, helps arrange interviews with DRI faculty and administrators, prepares and distributes news releases, and contributes content to the DRI Web site. Frank is also responsible for public relations and communications and will manage DRI’s media relations during its 50th anniversary celebration. DRI has planned a year-long celebration with monthly lectures and open houses on its Las Vegas and Reno campuses in the fall. She joined DRI in April 2009. Previously, Frank was the media relations coordinator at Truckee Meadows Community College. At TMCC, Frank coordinated media and public relations including the coordination of a live satellite feed to Baghdad, Iraq for the college’s 2006 commencement. Her communications experience also includes working for KOLO, the ABC affiliate in Reno as a producer, assignment manager and news operations manager. Working for KOLO provided Frank with more than eight years of news experience, covering wildfires, coordinating live remotes and learning about Nevada. She earned Master’s Degree in Communication and a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Nevada, Reno. |
