Project Description

During year 2, we will run the model not only using the newer NLCD records, but also the two parameterization approaches available within the UCM. Evaluation and validation of the model will be performed using observations and analysis obtained from (1), for we will extend the simulation to 3 more one-month long periods in order to represent seasonal variations. Finally, we will use this model to quantify distributed estimates of relevant environment parameters (e.g. temperature, evaporation) upon current and different urban growth scenarios (e.g. 1.5 or 2 times urban growth).
