Project Description

The objectives of the proposed project are as follows: 1) To understand and quantify the principle microphysical processes responsible for recent observations of cirrus clouds. Specific objectives and methodologies are listed in Section 4. 2) To improve the accuracy of existing ARM radar and radar-lidar retrievals of IWC and snowfall rate in cloud regions where the lidar signal is attenuated. Specific objectives and methodologies are listed in Section 5.
