Project Description

The Desert Research Institute (DRI) has operated two of its remotely controlled cloud seeding generators for the Winter Park (WP) - Denver Water (DW) cloud seeding project during the past two winter seasons. These units proved to be reliable and quite effective in operating remotely at high altitude. The operation of these remote generators provided one means of improving the operational capabilities of the WP-DW cloud seeding project by eliminating some of the uncertainty in targeting seeding material and introducing the seeding material directly into supercooled cloud regions. The DRI proposes to operate the same two generators in WY2012 for a portion of the seeding project that primarily targets the Winter Park region.
