One of the challenges to building research programs in DRI's soft money environment is providing faculty with financial and human resources that facilitate innovation and development of competitive research proposals. DRI has several methods of providing funding to faculty for activities such as developing new research proposals, obtaining preliminary data, training in new research areas, serving on national science advisory panels, and developing and patenting new technologies. Additionally, science editors are available to assist faculty in preparing well written and compelling research proposals and publications.
Applied Research Initiative: matching grants to stimulate Nevada's economy and/or solve critical Nevada environmental problems
Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR): stimulating sustainable improvements in the quality of academic science and technology
Research Compliance: committed to the implementation of a campus-wide compliance assurance program
Sponsored Research Office: provides post-award grant and contract services
Technology Transfer Office: provides the faculty with comprehensive support in technology transfer and licensing
Science Support Editors: assist faculty in preparing well written and compelling research proposals and publications
Information Technology: provides high quality computer services and resources in supportof DRI's research and administrative computing activities
Environmental Health and Safety: provides program and services for protecting people and preserving the environment
