18:18:20 Prepare for takeoff.
18:27:00 Cloudscope turned on.
18:38:40 Takeoff. Much jitter on the cloudscope during takeoff, due to vibrations.
18:48:20 Replicator on, speed 1.
18:52:30 Replicator film image VCR turned on. Around frame number 2750.
18:53:00 Looks like we are near the top of the planetary boundary layer, or top of an inversion. The relative humidity is near 100%, perhaps suggesting the anomalous radar returns are due to aerosols that have grown by taking on water. Cloudscope shows the remains of many aerosols from takeoff to this level.
18:55:20 Event mark, replicator.
18:56:34 Index mark, cloudscope.
18:57:08 Lamp on cloudscope to improve the daytime contrast, with film shutter speed at 1/10,000 second.
18:58:25 Replicator event mark. (time not entirely certain.)
18:59:20 Event mark on replicator.
19:00:45 Event mark on replicator.
19:02:50 Event mark on replicator. Replaced video tape for film positioning.
19:18:24 Replicator frame number 16122, just went through a thin cloud.
19:05:51 Replicator stuck again. Temperature 24.7 C by cloudscope?
19:09:44 Rattled replicator case, and got it running again.
19:11:23 Replicator event marker, though it may have been off.
19:12:13 Replicator on again. film speed 1.
19:12:34 Film speed 2. Testing the replicator operation.
19:13:08 Film speed 1.
19:13:41 Replicator auto off .
19:14:30 Frame count 14646 on replicator.
19:15:52 Replicator on, film speed 1.
19:19:05 Replicator event marker.
19:19:50 Replicator event marker, 17100 frame count (approx).
19:20:00 Air dryer seems violet, indicating that it is expended.
19:22:22 Event marker replicator.
19:23:40 Air pump off for the replicator since drier expended. Seems to have cleared up the formvar some. This indicates that some condensation was occuring on the formvar as it cooled following chloroform evaporation.
19:23:56 Replicator event marker.
19:26:21 Replicator off.
19:26:34 Replicator event marker during auto off cycle.
19:32:22 Turned off vcr for replicator film. Replicator on standby.
20:02:25 Replicator on, filmspeed 1.
20:05:43 Looking for a very thin cloud layer. Saw a glint from one, and noticed some small ice? crystals on the cloudscope. This is a very subvisual cirrus cloud - hardly noticable at all from the aircraft, but detectable by lidar. The lidar is what got us looking for this cloud in the first place.
20:09:00 Replicator on, but stuck again, probably due to box friction.
20:20:00 Replicator off. Will replace drying agent after this flight.
