Idaho Dispersion Modeling Project

TITLE:PM10 Dispersion Modeling for Treasure Valley, Idaho
P.I.:Darko Koracin
Sponsor:Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, Divions of Environmental Quality
Duration:September 97 - April 98

The Idaho Dispersion Modeling Project involved modeling emission data, reconciling dispersion and receptor models, and developing control strategies. The objectives were to assess the PM10 levels in nonattainment areas of northern Ada County and to develop related control strategies. Two growth scenarios--anticipated and high--were used for the emission inventory. Modeling using WYNDvalley and ISCST3 was then used to determine that Ada County will not continue to meet National Air Quality Standards under the high growth scenario. Supplemental control measures were proposed and evaluated.
