PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS:
Dr. French is a member of ASCE's Water Resources Engineering Executive
Committee and is responsible for all the national technical committees
in the area of hydraulic engineering. Dr. French was the 1991 recipient
of ASCE's Arid Lands Hydraulic Engineering Award, in 1996 was the
recipient of DRI's Dandini Medal of Science, and in 1997-98 was named
the Graduate Program in Hydrologic Sciences Outstanding Faculty Member.
Dr. French's research experience and interests are focused on water
resources and environmental problems of arid regions. He is also a
consultant to many regional, national, and international consulting
firms; and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Nevada, California,
and Arizona.
