Experience and Professional Activities Charlotte joined the Murray lab in summer 2007 and has worked on an ongoing effort we've had to characterize the microbial diversity in Lake Tahoe. Charlotte conducted her Senior Research project in the lab in which she worked to characterize microbial growth from nitrifying enrichment cultures, worked with our new laser scanning confocal microscope, and performed fluorescent in situ hybridization experiments to fluorescently tag organisms of interest in Lake Tahoe waters. During the summer 2008 Charlotte worked as an intern with Monika Winder of the Tahoe Center for Environmental Studies to characterize microbial activities Lake Tahoe.
