Activities
Kristen is working on her Master's degree with Dr. Hugh Ducklow (Director of the Ecosystems Center, MBL), a Co-PI on the IPY Bacterioplankton Genomic Adaptations project. She's conducted a series of seawater mesocosm experiments at Palmer Station, aimed to understand responses of marine bacterioplankton assemblage to different carbon resources. Kristen's worked with samples collected from the mesocosms to compare different molecular profiling methods to assess changes in the community structure of the bacterioplankon between treatments and over the duration of the mesocosm experiments.
