Content Standard and Description: Structure & Function – Students understand that all life forms, at all levels of organization, use specialized structures and similar processes to meet life’s needs.
 
Summary: This kit offers a wide variety of teaching tools from standard vocabulary sheets, to songs and books that teach kids all about their five senses. Using items such as Bingo cards, Wikki Stixs, puzzles, smell canisters, and posters, kids will have a blast learning what they can do with their five senses.

Learning Cycle Lesson Plans: Here is the list of the lesson plans in this kit.

1. “Intro to Five Senses” – Students will learn their five senses through books, posters, and a song.
2. “Sense of Hearing” – From books to games, students will learn all about ears and listening.
3. “The Sense of Touch” – Both games and songs will have students having fun learning about feeling and touching.
4. “The Senses of Smell and Taste” – Students will learn the basics of smelling and tasting through hands on activities giving them the opportunity to do it themselves.
5. “Comparing and Contrasting Human and Animal Senses” – Through puzzles, pictures and games, students will learn the similarities and differences of how humans and animals use all of their senses.

What to Expect: By the end of using this kit, you can expect your Kindergartener to be able to compare and contrast how humans and animals use their senses. For the first and second graders, they will be able to use the five senses to investigate the natural world.
