Content Standard and Description: Scientific Values & Physical Science – Students understand that science is an active process of systematically examining the natural world. Also students understand that materials have distinct properties that depend on the amount of matter present, its chemical composition, and structure.
Summary: This kit is designed to help students learn through books, experiments, and fun, how to raise questions by observation and answer those questions through investigation. Using a widespread range of teaching tools from I Spy books to magnifying glasses, learning will be fun for everyone involved.

What to Expect: By the end of using this kit, from your second grader you can expect them to be able to make observations and give descriptions using words, numbers, and drawings. Also describe objects in terms of their observable properties (E.g. state of matter, size, texture, shape & color). For the third graders, they will not only be able to do that, but also be able to observe and raise questions about the world, and then seek answers through investigations. Also, they will be able to sort and classify objects according to observable properties.
