Box #47 – Grades 4-5
Air Quality

Air Quality is the view point of this traveling kit. As the name Air Quality implies we are looking at the quality of air and how it affects us as humans, but also plants and animals. The traveling suitcase explores Air Quality in many ways: What is Air, Climate Warming, Ozone, Greenhouse Effect, and what can we do to improve Air Quality. Inside the kit are and background information on all the subjects listed so educators can explain these ideas to their students, activities, and current newspaper articles to help keep the traveling kit fresh and current.

Box #48 – Grades 5-8
The Air We Breathe

There are five main components to the Traveling Science Box “The Air We Breathe”. They are: the atmosphere(structure and atmospheric processes), the causes and effects of air pollution, the Ozone Layer and the impact on life, measuring air quality through particulate matter, and the fifth and final component discusses the controversial issue of Global Warming.

Box #49 – Grades 9-12
“The Quality of Our Air”

This curriculum unit contains background information for teachers, current articles and selected readings, as well as hands on activities to enhance students’ understanding of the air we breathe and the nature of pollutants which might affect it.
